CHTHONAK

Chthonak is a demonic being from the God-Realm who periodically appears in the Earth, from where he attempts to emerge to ravage the planet. The God-Realm is a term for the multiplicity of dimensions which are home to what primitive people refer to as “gods”. Separated from Earth by a dimensional barrier, in part determined by the belief level of their followers, inhabitants of this Realm can, under certain circumstances, travel to and from Earth.

Chthonak has appeared many times from the crust of the Earth to plague the Sentinels and humanity.

DREADHELM

Dreadhelm apparently created Technia, a technologically advanced city located on the Mid-Pacific Island nation formerly known as Ricca. Its peoples are subjugated by the application of some of the most sophisticated technology in the world, creating a Cult of Personality of Ricca’s Leader, Dreadhelm.

Although his plans for world conquest have not yet come to fruition, Dreadhelm remains one of the darkest threats to the freedom of Earth’s inhabitants.

BLACK ORCHID

Diana Dawn grew up in a rough neighborhood of Damark City. Her father was featherweight boxing champion ‘Dazzling’ Dan Dawn, and he trained her from a young age to defend herself. He was able to show her how to compensate for her small size and weight in a fight against the neighborhood toughs. In school, she studied gymnastics.

Although she has no powers, she possesses the strength, stamina, and agility of a skilled athlete who engages in regular intensive physical exercise.

TNT TODD

Todd was both an F.B.I. field agent and a chemist. During an experiment, a strange purple gas was released accidentally into his lab. Because Todd could not escape, he inhaled large amounts of the gas which he discovered had given him superpowers, such as flight and disintegrating beams fired from his hands. Todd then donned an FBI prototype bulletproof costume he helped develop to become TNT Todd.

RAVEN

A lifelong student of the martial arts, as a young adult he became a highly skilled member of an elite covert missions/special ops team, developing various technical skills and abilities. He undertook a variety morally ambiguous missions, eventually culminating in a special operation in Costa Muerte, South America.

Betrayed by another member of the agency they worked for, he and his partner were captured and taken to be executed in the dark forest in the moonlight. He nearly died, entombed in his shallow grave; but finally managed to dig his way out.

He survived his blood loss and other injuries, stumbled deeper into the forest, and took refuge in an abandoned cabin. Afterwards, he returned to the cartel’s mansion, making use of its resources to further aid himself, including liberating large quantities of money and supplies for his own use.

The Raven possesses no superhuman powers, but has the physique of a man in excellent physical condition who engages in intensive regular exercise.

OPTIMA

While a young girl in India, she began to manifest unusual abilities that she was unable to control. At first, she and her family kept her abilities a secret, and she gradually learned to control them to some degree. Eventually, however, she was found out. The religious leaders of her village viewed her as a threat to their power, so they decided to kill her. Unfortunately for her, one of the men possessed superhuman abilities and was able to call upon a lightning storm to rip her apart. She disappeared, apparently ripped apart by the winds.

Like the mythic Phoenix, she resurrected – transformed from a girl to a woman with white hair. She returned to her village and removed the men from power. She was hailed as a hero and with her parents’ blessing went out into the world to continue her work.

Optima is one of the most powerful metahumans operating on Earth today.

ULTRAMAN

UltraMan is from a parallel Earth whose primary influence was the ancient Ionian tradition of natural-philosophy, such that the scientific revolutions that occurred on our Earth happened millennia earlier on UltraMan’s Earth.

UltraMan is one of the most powerful meta-humans operating on Earth today. By absorbing ambient radiation from multiple sources, and converting it through some unknown process, he is able to channel this energy into a number of superhuman feats. Chief among those are the ability to distort the local space-time continuum.

MR. AMAZING

A high school math teacher and former Olympic athlete, Jeff Prince just decided one day to fight crime in a costume. And so he did, busting up local drug rings, stopping petty criminals, and acting as inspiration to the local kids as the costumed vigilante, Mr. Amazing.

When the armored Nazi agent Blitzkrieg attempted to use the Empire State Building as a broadcast point for an experimental ‘death ray’, it was Mr. Amazing who ended the threat, but at the cost of his own life. A memorial statue of him is displayed in the Freedom’s Stronghold Trophy Room.

He was a superb hand-to-hand combatant and an exceptional all-around athlete.
